SUPPRESSION OF ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT

With their medico-political influence, the Cancer Establishment employs a whole system of blacklisting and vilification of new therapies and alternative doctors.

Among many distinguished researchers and clinicians who have been summarily blacklisted by the American Cancer Society (ACS) are the late Max Gerson, M.D. and Stanislaw Burzynski, M.D., Ph.D.
Max Gerson was a genius indeed who cured 50 advanced cancer cases with the diet therapy. The records are there for all to see. Of Gerson, the Nobel Laureate, Albert Schweitzer, M.D. wrote: “I see in him one of the most eminent geniuses in the history of medicine.” The medicine practiced by Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, is nutritional. He insisted: “Let food be your medicine and medicine your food.” Max Gerson knew this and knew also, unlike his antagonists, that diet can affect disease generally and cancer in particular.
Stanislaw Burzynski, a Polish-born physician-biochemist has developed anti-cancer substances he called antineoplastons which he has used successfully to treat thousands of cancer patients. A significant number of people treated have been cured, although they had been declared “terminal” or “incurable” by conventional doctors. Exciting results obtained from the use of Burzynski’s antineoplastons involve tumours which do not respond to chemotherapy and radiotherapy. In 1983, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) filed a suit against Burzynski in an effort to close down his Houston-based Burzynski Clinic. Then in 1985, FDA agents and federal marshals raided the Burzynski Research Institute (BRI) and seized over 200,000 confidential documents, including private medical records. The federal officers loaded eleven of his filing cabinets into their truck in blatant violation of his rights and the rights of his patients. Although Burzynski sued FDA in order to recover his records, all the records still remain with FDA. Ralph Moss, one of the most prolific writers on cancer treatment and issues, further reported: “Burzynski has been indicted on 75 counts of fraud for providing his medicines, antineoplastons, to cancer patients. He faces up to 300 years in prison for following the dictates of his conscience and his medical oath.” Isn’t this ridiculous?
A common criticism of alternative medicine often heard from conventional practitioners is that “there is no documentation” showing that any of the alternative treatment methods has been proved effective. In the book, Cancer Therapy by Ralph Moss, there are over 1000 references, many in “peer-reviewed” journals. More documentation can be found in other books, including late Dr. Douglas Brodie’s Cancer and Common Sense which contains about 180 of such references.
In spite of the brutal suppression of alternative therapies, the situation of alternative medicine is more promising now than it has been for more than 40 years. This is because the forces of oppression are becoming unpopular as interest in alternative medicine continues to grow. As rightly stated by Marilyn Ferguson, “There is a growing awareness among the American people that orthodox medicine is not working because the solution lies outside accepted patterns of thought.”
In summary, the institutionalization of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery as the standard methods for treating cancer is a political decision, necessitated by financial considerations. It is fraught with unreasonable suppression of alternatives, ruthless intimidation of conscience-guided scientists and doctors, and heartless attitude towards patients, including children. It is regrettable that the National Cancer Society, the organization established and funded to promote new cancer research should rather be spending substantial part of its budget suppressing new ideas and intimidating independent researchers.
Conventional medicine cannot win the war against cancer for the simple reason that its obsessive financial interest is at variance with finding a cure. Conversely, alternative practitioners and independent researchers have, with great determination, already won the war against cancer, aided by conscience and catalyzed by commitment to the Hippocratic Oath – do no harm.
