CHOICE OF THERAPY

CHOICE OF THERAPY

Not many cancer patients are aware of treatment options open to them. Medical orthodoxy has brain-washed gullible folks into believing that the conventional approach – surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy – is the only method for treating cancer.
At our Centre, all the options are discussed with patients to enable them make informed decisions.

Option 1: Conventional Treatment

Conventional Treatment consists of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Surgery involves effort to remove cancerous tumors with the knife, which often results in mutilation of the affected parts, recurrence of tumor or even metastasis (spreading) thereafter.

Chemotherapy is extremely toxic. It entails poisoning both cancerous and normal cells. It depresses the bone marrows and dehydrates, causing anemia. It depresses the gastro-intestinal tract, resulting in constipation. It causes damage to major organs of the body – liver, heart, lungs, kidney, spleen etc. It ironically weakens the immune system which the body needs for healing. And it causes hair loss (alopecia), just to mention a few of the adverse effects of chemotherapy. It is well known that chemotherapy causes secondary cancers. Cancerous Tumors in the bones are mostly the result of cancers that originated elsewhere in the body, like the breast, prostrate and lungs, and have metastasized to the bones. Patients who have been treated conventionally, especially for breast cancer, prostate cancer and lung cancer, quite often find that their cancers have metastasized to the bones. Because of its evidently poor outcome, therefore, there is so much fear associated with chemotherapy.

Radiotherapy similarly kills both cancerous and normal cells with the use of radiation. Radiation poisoning also causes organ damage as well as burns and scars.

Option 2: Alternative Therapies

These involve the use of natural, nontoxic substances, including phytonutrients, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, lipids, peptides, botanicals and other compounds to combat cancer. These substances, expertly selected, have the synergistic effect of causing cancer cells to either die (apoptosis) or revert to normal cells. They help reinforce the immune system to combat cancer more effectively and also assist the body in its detoxification process.

Evidence abound that alternative therapies are being used to cure cancer even at advanced stages. Where cancerous tumour is inoperable or chemotherapy does not work, as in brain cancer (because of blood-brain barrier), alternative therapy becomes the best option, usually with successful outcome.

Option 3: Integrative Approach

Doctors of integrative medicine and open-minded oncologists now combine conventional and alternative methods to treat cancer. In this approach, chemotherapy is used to destroy malignant cells, while appropriate alternative orthomolecular and other anti-cancer substances are used to protect normal cells against the damage. Statistically, success rate with integrative method is much higher than the conventional method alone.

At the Centre, after we have thoroughly educated clients about the various treatment options, we help them decide which of the two options would be of greater benefit to them – the alternative or the integrative approach.
